Whaleshark Swim Adventure - Kona Hawaii (Big Island)

After an incredible morning of swimming with dolphins off the coast of Kona Hawaii, we were sitting on the dive boat eating a well deserved lunch.

Then a call came on the radio from another dive boat captain who alerted us that they had spotted a 24 foot whale shark. Hurriedly, we started our engines and high-tailed it over to the meet with what was to become the most amazing adventures ever: jumping into the dark blue Pacific Ocean and swimming with this awesome creature.

If you've never encountered an animal this big while snorkeling or diving, it's quite a thrill, and quite a moment of trust as it's massive body glides envigoratingly close to you.

But you gotta remember that it won't eat you -- matter of fact -- it only eats plankton the size of about 1mm in length.

If you ever encounter one of these gentle giants, I highly encourage you to jump in with it and enjoy the moment.
